Reduce ecological footprint

Using a Stork spray type deaerator reduces the ecological footprint by replacing the normally required oxygen scavenger.
The Stork spray type deaerator offers deaeration up to 5 ppb of dissolved oxygen at the boiler feed water outlet without the necessity of an oxygen scavenger. The elimination of the oxygen scavenger also lowers the Total Cost of Ownership of the plant significantly.

Small vent loss

The steam that heats up the condensate will condense against the water spray inside the deaerator and keeps steam losses low. This also means that an additional vent condenser is not required resulting in an additional capital saving.

Transport and handling

The single vessel Stork spray type deaerator design allows for transport of a single only vessel whereas other designs require two vessels to be transported and handled. Obviously less transport contributes to a smaller ecological footprint.

Parallel operation

Parallel operation means that two deaerators are connected via one common header to the boiler feed water pumps. In situations where customers wish to operate, for example, with two boilers and two deaerators, the Stork spray type deaerator offers a parallel operation benefit. In this set up one deaerator can act as back-up whereas when both deaerators are in operation, they each run at only 50% load.
Such double Stork deaerators are connected together on the water side and the steam side and so, from a control philosophy viewpoint, can be treated as a single vessel. This reduces costs for controlling the condensate and steam supply and the number of boiler feedwater pumps.

Connection to district heating

Very often a Waste to Energy plant is connected to a district heating network.
